Iphion developed the first box for TV over IP back in 2010. The wanted to launch a package of 30 channels for EUR 10 per month. Over the open internet, but this was not allowed by the broadcasters. So they had to start via a closed fiber networks. Nowadays it is called Over the Top (OTT) and we see a lot of OTT platforms launching TV over IP. Media Bridges helped to acquire the rights to broadcast the channels over IP.
