Flemish broadcasting group Medialaan said it had reached a preliminary agreement to acquire Acht media group Concentra.
Acht is an entertainment channel, specialising in TV series, comedy, entertainment and music programmes, including British and American series such as Live at the Apollo, Nurse Jackie, Vice on HBO and Californication, and is known for its HBO series.
Concentra launched Dutch language digital TV channel Acht (Eight), specialising in imported ‘high quality’ TV series, on May 18, 2009.
Medialaan said it will refocus the channel to target a male audience from this autumn, adding to channel to its roster consisting of VTM, 2BE/Q2, Vitaya, and VTMKZoom.
Just last week, Medialaan announced it will relaunch its second channel 2BE in September under a new name, Q2.
